If ever you have watched a home TV shopping channel on one of those late nights when you could not sleep, you have probably come across an infomercial extolling the glories of commercial golf swing training aids. It would not be a surprise if these training aids managed to get your attention as well because they promise miracles in helping you perfect your golf swing with not much effort and in no time at all.

The question is: Do these commercial golf swing training aids really work? More likely than not, these products are big on promises but low on delivery. Besides, why should you waste your hard-earned cash on a training aid that is not guaranteed to work when you know that good, old-fashioned golf swing practice never fails?

So, instead of commercial golf swing training aids, what should you do to improve your golf swing? Here are a few things that can help.

Practice Makes Perfect

If you feel that there is a weakness in your golf swing and you would like to correct it, there is nothing better than practicing your swing diligently and making note of your progress. When you keep practicing, you will develop a natural feel of what works and what you should do to make your shot with a high degree of accuracy.

You do not even have to spend most of your time at a driving range to get your golf swing practice done. You can buy a hitting mat and cheap golf balls to practice your swing on, and you can do it in the comfort of your backyard. If it is your grip that you are having a problem with, you can solve it by buying a training grip. Training grips are meant to help you correct your grip if you use them regularly during your practice. These materials are only a fraction of the cost of what commercial golf swing training aids are priced these days.

Keep Your Body Fit

Your golf swing will only be as powerful as your body. So, if your body is not fit, you should not be surprised if your golf swing is weak. No commercial golf swing training aids can help you deal with this one. What it takes for your body to become stronger is old-fashioned exercise, enough sleep and a balanced diet.

If you really want to develop your strength, you should train your core muscles or the muscles in your abdomen and back. Regular push-ups and sit-ups, plus some jogging on the side, can do wonders with your core muscles. Not only will these exercises make you strong enough to deliver a truly powerful golf swing, but they will also give you a lot of health benefits. They will also make you look good wearing fit clothes.

If you are serious about improving your golf swing, you should not only rely on commercial golf swing training aids. I personally used one of theme which is used by over 20.000 golfers around the word. It does teach you a range of techniques which will improve your game. Learn more here. but remember none of these aids will be as effective if you don’t practice.

Practice makes perfect in any endeavor you choose to undertake. This old adage applies with gold even more. That is because golf is a highly technical game where accuracy is valued, and you can only get the kind of accuracy that is so desired in this game if you practice your swing with serious determination.

Executing golf swings can be difficult if you are still a newbie and are still learning how to play golf. But you do not have to worry about not being able to master the golf swing. By practicing using a few golf swing drills, you will have an easier time learning the game.

The Different Golf Swing Drills

Before you select what kind of golf swing drills you need to work with, you need to determine what the weaknesses of your golf swing are. There are many drills that you can work with and all these drills are specifically designed to correct specific weaknesses.

Here are some of the different kinds of golf swing drills and what they are used for.

Balancing swings. Keeping your balance can be a problem when you are making your backswing. There is a fun way to correct this problem, and that is to practice making your swings standing on just one foot. Or, you can do your swings with both your feet on the ground and planted close together. The point is that try to practice your swing without moving your feet to gain a sense of balance.

Club on the parallel. Placing a golf club on the ground at a parallel to your target can be very useful if you are finding it difficult to make your backswing at the correct angle. Keep your sight on this golf club on the ground when you make your backswing with the use of another golf club. Halt your backswing when it has reached its highest level, and then check its position against the golf club on the ground. You know you have finally got the angle right if the golf club in your hands is parallel to the one on the ground.

One-handed swing. If you are prone to missing the shot when you make the swing, it is likely because you have a problem with your hand-eye coordination. You can correct this by hitting your target by swinging your golf club with just one hand. If you are left-handed, hold the golf club with your right hand, and vice-versa if you are right-handed.

Tee pegs. Tee pegs are used to train golfers make a wider arc on their backswing. These tee pegs are especially helpful if your backswing is a little on the sharp side. To make this drill work, you need to put the tee pegs around a foot behind the ball. You should be able to hit the tee pegs whenever you make your backswing.

Practice always makes perfect in golf. With a few simple golf swing drills, you can correct whatever weaknesses that makes your golf swing imperfect. Discover even more golf drills here.

When you are just getting into golf and learning how to play the game, one of the things that you will find out is that golf is a highly technical game. There is a right way of positioning your body when you make the swing. There is a right way of gripping your golf club, of raising it and then swinging it for maximum precision in hitting the golf ball.

It can be tedious to learn all the technical details of how to play golf, but as they say, practice makes perfect. If you work on your posture, your grip and your swing, along with the other myriad details of playing golf, you will soon be able to play like a pro. Remember, even the professional golfers and golf masters went through what you are now going through before they could master the game.

To reiterate, practice makes perfect. The best way to practice your golf swing is by doing what golf trainers call the slow motion golf swing. As the name suggests, it is just like any regular golf swing, except that it is done in slow time.

Why Do the Slow Motion Golf Swing

Why is the slow motion golf swing the best way to practice your golf swing? The reason is simple enough – a golf swing done in slow motion helps you see if you are doing it correctly for maximum effect. As mentioned above, golf is a highly technical game that involves learning a lot of details to make the perfect grip, the perfect swing and so forth.

If you make your practice golf swings at regular speed, you will not be able to see if you are doing it correctly, as in holding the golf club in the right way, pivoting your body just so, and swinging the club at the right angle and with the right force.

When you practice with slow motion golf swings, you will be able to see what you are doing clearly. Thus, when you catch yourself making a mistake, you can just stop at mid-swing and correct your mistake immediately.

Ways to Practice Your Swing

To make your practice with slow motion golf swings, you need to be able to watch yourself or have someone watch you. If you prefer to do it alone, you can practice in front of a mirror. Or you can buy a video that teaches how to make perfect golf swings, and you can imitate the pointers taught there.

You can also ask another golf player to watch you and see if you are doing your swing correctly. If you can afford it, go ahead and hire a professional golf tutor to teach you how to make that perfect golf swing. However you do it, just make sure that the person teaching you really has more experience in playing the game; otherwise, it will be a case of the blind leading the blind.

Practice makes perfect in learning how to play golf. By doing your golf swings in slow motion, you get to catch your mistakes and correct them immediately. I practiced my swing with this golf training method. I’d highly recommend you also look into it.

When you play golf, one of the things you need to remember is that your golf club is an extension of your hands. Your golf club is your tool for hitting the ball and placing it where you want it to be. You and your golf club should work as one unit, and to achieve that kind of unity with your golf club, you need to learn how to control the way your golf club moves.

You may be asking this question now: Just how do you get to exert control over your golf club? The answer to your question is simple enough. The way you grip the handle of your golf club is the key to how well you control its movement. If you get your grip worked to perfection, you will see that you are hitting the ball with a smoothly executed swing and letting the ball go exactly where you want it to go.

It Does Not Take a Pro to Learn How to Grip

You do not need to get expensive lessons from a pro golfer just to get good golf grip tips to help you learn how to control your grip. All you need to do is to surf the Internet for these golf grip tips. In fact, here are a few that can help you along.

Place your right hand on the very tip of the handle of your golf club. At the same time, allow your left hand to hang loosely and naturally from your shoulder along the side of your golf club’s grip. You will notice that your left hand will naturally turn with the palm facing your body. Go ahead and keep it that way.

From its natural hanging position, place your left hand along the grip of your golf club. The grip should run along fleshy part of your palm at a diagonal angle – from the base of your little finger and running to your index finger at mid-joint.

Once you have positioned your left palm along your golf club’s grip at a diagonal angle, close your hand around the grip. Remember not to grip the golf club too tightly. Just keep your hand relaxed but firm around the handle. To make this easier for you, imagine that you are gripping a tube of toothpaste instead of a golf club – too much pressure can force-squeeze the toothpaste out.

Take note of how your fingers are positioned around the grip. Your left thumb should be placed on top of the grip, right at the center. Your right thumb and index finger should look as if you are pulling a trigger on your grip. Lastly, the little finger of your right hand should be hooked between the index finger and the middle finger of your left hand.

These golf grip tips may not feel easy or natural to you when you first try it. However, once you get used to this way of gripping your golf club, you will see better results with your game. Learn how to improve your grip and your swing in 2 weeks by following these tips.

Did you ever wish that you could play golf just like the way the masters do? If you find yourself thinking that way, you are not alone. After all, who does not want to play golf like Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo or Vijay Singh? They are all golf masters who are worth emulating.

One thing you should know about these golf masters, though, is that all of them began as a golf rookie. They all started out just like you. The key to their success in the game is, of course, determination and hard work. Also, they took the time to perfect their golf swing basics.

Working on your golf swing basics and getting them down pat is very important to improving your game. Doing your golf swing correctly may seem hard to you right now, but if you work on it seriously enough, you will be able to swing your golf club like a pro.

The Five Parts of a Golf Swing

So, what are the golf swing basics that you need to remember to get a good game of golf? The golf swing is broken down into five parts and you need to work on each of these five parts if you want to perfect your golf swing. These five parts are:

The tee off.
The tee off is the first part of the golf swing and in many ways the most important. This is the part where you gauge the factors that can affect how and where your golf ball will land. When you focus is strong enough, you can make your golf ball land wherever you want. Thus, it is important to stay focused during the tee off.

The grip.
Just how you grip the handle of your golf club can dictate how well you hit the golf ball. Grip your golf club too loosely or too tightly and you will only be wasting the shot. What you need to do here is simply to hold your golf club in a relaxed and steady hold.

The backswing.
The backswing is the part where you hit the ball as hard as you can. When you raise your golf club for the back swing, remember that you are building momentum that you will transfer to the golf ball so that your ball would go far. If your backswing is too weak, your ball will not fly far away from you.
