Did you ever wish that you could play golf just like the way the masters do? If you find yourself thinking that way, you are not alone. After all, who does not want to play golf like Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo or Vijay Singh? They are all golf masters who are worth emulating.
One thing you should know about these golf masters, though, is that all of them began as a golf rookie. They all started out just like you. The key to their success in the game is, of course, determination and hard work. Also, they took the time to perfect their golf swing basics.
Working on your golf swing basics and getting them down pat is very important to improving your game. Doing your golf swing correctly may seem hard to you right now, but if you work on it seriously enough, you will be able to swing your golf club like a pro.
The Five Parts of a Golf Swing
So, what are the golf swing basics that you need to remember to get a good game of golf? The golf swing is broken down into five parts and you need to work on each of these five parts if you want to perfect your golf swing. These five parts are:
- The tee off.
The tee off is the first part of the golf swing and in many ways the most important. This is the part where you gauge the factors that can affect how and where your golf ball will land. When you focus is strong enough, you can make your golf ball land wherever you want. Thus, it is important to stay focused during the tee off. - The grip.
Just how you grip the handle of your golf club can dictate how well you hit the golf ball. Grip your golf club too loosely or too tightly and you will only be wasting the shot. What you need to do here is simply to hold your golf club in a relaxed and steady hold. - The backswing.
The backswing is the part where you hit the ball as hard as you can. When you raise your golf club for the back swing, remember that you are building momentum that you will transfer to the golf ball so that your ball would go far. If your backswing is too weak, your ball will not fly far away from you. - The pivot.
While you are making your backswing, it is important that you get your pivot done correctly. You will know if your pivot is right if your left shoulder is properly aligned with your hips as you move while the weight of your body is slightly transferred to your right foot. - The downswing.
What comes up must come down; so when you make your backswing, what follows is your downswing. Your downswing transfers to your golf ball the energy and momentum that you have built up during the backswing. Make sure that you hit the ball fast on your downswing to make the most of this built-up energy.
These are the five golf swing basics. If you want to get your game right and get better scores, you need to work on your golf swing. You also get to enjoy golf a lot more.
